Dassault Systèmes has announced the launch of SOLIDWORKS 2019 SP4, the latest release of its portfolio of 3D design and engineering applications.SOLIDWORKS 2019 is said to deliver enhancements and functionalities to help improve product development getting products into production faster.

Functionality
Refer to What's New for descriptions of new functionality. Updates not yet included in What's New SOLIDWORKS 2019:
- Color outputs from schematic and layout designs
Service Pack 4.0
- The Help > About dialogs display the current release as Version 2019.3.0 (build 16), which is unchanged from the 2019 SP3 release.

SOLIDWORKS Visualize

System and Graphics Requirements
- SOLIDWORKS Visualize no longer supports NVIDIA Fermi cards for GPU acceleration.
Known Limitations
- Preview render mode does not currently support MDL Materials, so they are displayed in pink instead.
Functionality
- Fixed an issue where output files were being deleted at completion of animation render output.
- Fixed an issue where final render output could be black when the viewport was displaying correctly.
- Fixed some cases where SOLIDWORKS motion studies imported with components moving out of sync.
- Fixed an issue with decals and monitor file, where multiple copies of the same decal would previously not display on update.
- Improved cleanup of temp data when projects are closed.

Powered by Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform, SOLIDWORKS 2019 is claimed to let product development teams better manage large amounts of data and capture a more complete digital representation of a design. It also offers improved collaboration and immersive, interactive experiences during design and engineering.

Among its new features, SOLIDWORKS 2019 provides greater design flexibility to rapidly interrogate or make changes to a model thanks to an enhanced Large Design Review capability.It also improves high performance view manipulation to scale with higher-end graphics hardware. In addition, it allows teams to communicate outside the design community by adding markups to parts and assemblies directly using a touch device, storing them with the model, and exporting them as a PDF.

Another key feature is SOLIDWORKS Extended Reality (XR), an application for publishing CAD scene data created in SOLIDWORKS – including lights, cameras, materials, decals, and motion study animations – and experiencing it in VR, AR and web viewers.As increasingly affordable immersive devices contribute to the growing ecosystem of technology and interactive experiences, designers and engineers can use SOLIDWORKS XR to improve collaborative internal and external design reviews, sell designs more effectively, train users how to assemble and interact with their products, and boost confidence in designs throughout the product development process.

SOLDIWORKS 2019 introduces some great new tools for working mesh geometry and some tools to speed productivity in assemblies.
